Aero Club in San Diego submitted Description
Aero Club, on the stretch on India Street that run alongside 1-5, Bill (owner) who makes this pub his first venture in the bar business, affectionately refers to his place as one of San Diego's "best dive bars, " probably because it has been around since 1948. But it has also evolved into anything but a dive bar, the place is clean, and features a distinct motif celebrating fighter pilots and the places they fly. There are some terrific murals on the walls, model planes hang from the ceiling, and photos galore dot the walls. There are plenty of neon beer signs to add to the amber glow inside.
The clientele here covers all walks of life, all all age groups- a terrific mix! Aero club is more a new pub than a standard bar, simply because it features at least 20 fabulous drafts-including many microbrews from around the country-and several imports.
Happy hour prices are in effect all day Monday through Friday until 7pm. Wine by the glass or bottle is featured, and there's a selection of the new "under 24 percent alcohol distilled spirits."
